Room Makeover

When we moved into this house we had everything planned out. The kids would be upstairs in the bedrooms and we would sleep in the attic since it had a separate bathroom and we didn't want the kids to climb up the ladder.  We stayed up there until Mia was 1 year old, which means I dragged my pregnant ass up that ladder for 9 months and later carried Mia up and down the stairs and still do today because that is where the bathtub is.
When Mia was a year old, we moved into Joshua's downstairs room and he moved into our attic room. Now that he is going to be 16 next week, we just couldn't handle it anymore with the X-box playing at night or the going up and down the ladder all night because he was thirsty and hungry so we decided to move him to the basement.
It started out like everything else we do -- a total disaster, but after two days of sorting, cleaning, throwing away or donating, we finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
We have now moved the kid to the basement, where he can play his music as loud as he wants and we don't hear a thing; we have the upstairs to sew, craft or work on the computer.

I love it upstairs and even sewed something already.  I do wish the boxes were hidden but this is real life and I don't live in a catalog where only pretty things sit out.
I wonder what this room will become in the next couple of years?
