Joshua went to London

A couple of months ago, Joshua got the chance to go to London for four days with about 26 kids from his school. He had a blast. Of course, I told him to take a bunch of pictures and he did, but most of them had strangers in them and you couldn't tell what the hell he was photographing. There were a total of 2 pictures of him and one was with Hitler.  He kills me.
It was a rough trip for these kids because they had to catch a bus at 3am to the airport and all the kids were tired.  They stayed tired because they walked all over London and saw everything that was worth seeing; plus, they bunked three to a room and stayed up till all hours. I asked him to send me a picture of his room and he sent me a picture of his roommate and a bottle of water.

People like to make fun of the guards but I guess somebody ripped the kids a new one for picking on him and for being disrespectful. I guess you shouldn't be rude to them.

They rode the London eye, saw the Tower of London, The Dungeon, Changing of the guards, Buckingham Palace, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Harrods and a bunch more stuff he didn't take pictures of.
I'm glad Joshua was able to go. It really helped him get along with his classmates. Seeing another country with friends was a great experience for him.

Pink Box

I don't know anyone who doesn't like getting a surprise in the mail every month, so when Pinkbox had a face special going on where you could order a beauty box for 8 euros, I decided to try it. I used to get the GlossyBox for a while but when I cut back expenses that was one of the first things to go.
So yesterday the box came and it was nothing to write home about -- but ok for 8 euros.
The first thing I noticed was the box was really flimsy.  I didn't like that at all since I store stuff in these boxes.  The ones from GlossyBox are really sturdy.
I received this UV spray for your hair, which does me no good since, until today, the sun has not come out in 2 weeks.

This stuff is cool but, unfortunately, I already have it from Benefit.  The one from Benefit is awesome so I gave this one to my kid.  It was full size so that's nice; it's called "magic touch instant blur."

This is just a trial-sized tester bottle.  It smells good, but I already have two Boss perfumes so I won't be buying this.

I like recipe magazines, but I usually just get all my recipes off the Internet or Pinterest; still,  this is cool to look through.

This is sun protection for babies, but I already have the perfect sunlotion form Rituals so I will be gifting this.
Shower gel from the Body Shop:  it's a little bottle but I will definitely try it and probably use it up because shower gel is always useful.

So, for 8 euros it was definitely ok but I canceled it anyway because the box itself sucked; I figured that even if the products were bad at least the box would be worth it but not in this case.
I did order the GlossyBox for a month to see how I like it now,  so we will see.

Ebertpark Ludwigshafen

I live in a little town outside of Ludwigshafen.  My town is cute and kind of rural (without being in the middle of nowhere) while Ludwigshafen itself is not very pretty or quaint -- it's just plain old ugly, with the exception of this little park.  This park, on top of being really nice and taken care of,  is also free.  I said free!!!! Nothing is free anymore.

There are no dogs or bicycles allowed in the park, which of course meant there were dogs everywhere and people riding bikes all over the place.  Nobody follows rules anymore.
There were goats and birds and a couple of really great playgrounds that were so well kept and clean; it was awesome.
Of course, Mia got dirty and wet so I had to take her dress off in the car since she hates to be wet. Then she fell asleep in the car and, unfortunately, she doesn't stay asleep so a 10 minute nap was enough for her.  I missed my nap today, which makes me cranky but Mia is still going strong even after a bath. The kid is not human, I tell ya.

My Birthday Wishlist

Next Thursday is my Birthday and I usually try to give myself a present. My husband is also asking me what I want and because this a wish list and not an "I'm gonna get it list", I am going to put everything on it that I would like.
Silhouette Cutter
I have been wanting one of these for a long time now but always back off from it because of the price; but I really really want one.  It's a doohickey that lets you make the most awesome designs and what is even greater about it is that it's even for people like me who can't cut a straight line.
Michael Kors Bracelet
Uh, yes please! What's not to love, thank you.....It would look maaaavelous on me.

I love Fossil watches and this would be my third one, but the first one in rose gold.

Ok really? Need I say more? It's fricken Tiffanys!

These are my favorite shoes ever ,and I always to buy the same ones. The only thing that bugs me is that they are $40 in the States and they are 65 Euros here. That's $85 dollars!

I take the majority of my pictures for the blog with my Phone, which is the Sony Xperia Z1. I love it as far as the camera goes but these lenses would make it even more fun.

Mine broke a couple of years ago and I just haven't gotten a new one. But I listen to so much music and I look stupid with the Ipad glued to my head.
I used to have six of these but they all broke because I have kids and can't have nice things.
Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet smells like violets. I love it but am always too cheap to buy it for myself.

Now, mind you, I probably won't get anything on here because first of all it totals about 1400 euro and ain't nobody got that kind of cash laying around. But it is fun to imagine being loaded.
Happy Birthday to me!!!

Week in Review

Woo things have been really crazy around here lately but I think that is pretty much all the time so I don't know why I even bother mentioning it.
I got bored with just being blond so I had brown lowlights put in but when it washed out it made me look Grey in the ends and I hate it.

We finally got the teenager moved to the basement and it turned out so nice but until we had everything sorted out and figured out where to put everything it looked like this.
1 trip to the dump and 1 trip to the fleamarket later it was done.
This is Josh doing his favorite thing

We still have to get a desk and a dresser and curtains but the main part is done and he is happy.

As mentioned the Fleamarket where I made decent money and got rid of a bunch of stuff I had no more use for. Of course it was crazy with two guys almost beating each other over a nintendo game so that was nice.

Other then that there is nothing new going on I need to get my resume done so I can apply for a job I did get my pictures taken for that and I don't like that my roots are showing but other then that I think it's ok.

I think this definitely looks like a person you would hire, I will keep telling myself that until I have a job.
Let's hope my future employer sees it that way.

What I Read in August

As I have mentioned before I read quite a bit. Sometimes I read good books with decent stories that make me think, and sometimes I read smutty stories that make me laugh and tingly at the same time.
This month I have read 14 books which, give or take a few,  is the usual for me.
Yes, I do stay up till all hours to finish a book and I will carry it from room to room and to the playground, bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. I'm Obsessed -- I get it.

I read the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth.
I will not post spoilers about any of these books but I will say that I liked the first book the best and the other two pissed me off.  I do like the idea of the books and I am excited to see what the movie makers do with them.  I enjoyed reading these stories about Tris and 4 and, let's face it, after watching the movie, I can imagine what 4 looks like and it ain't too shabby. These books, however, made me post mean things on Facebook at 4am because I was so pissed off about the ending.

I read the 5th book in the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead called Silver Shadows.

This author also wrote the The Vampire Academy series that I liked, so it was a no brainer that I read the next series that ties into those books.
I really like this series because I like the paranormal and this book is something you can read and go right to sleep without thinking about it too much. It doesn't upset me or get me all worked up, but it is interesting enough to keep me up all night to finish it. It has witches and alchemists and vampires, "Oh my!"

I read a really racy  BDSM series by Kallypso Masters called the "Rescue me Saga."

I have never read a series that dealt with BDSM and it was interesting to see what it was about. I thought it was interesting that the author didn't just write about the sex but also explained that the Master and Submissive relationship also helps with victims of abusive relationships. Let's face it, though; I didn't read it for the psych lesson. This is all about Marines opening up a club where they work through their PTSD issues and, of course, there is always a leading lady who you want to see find a happy ending. Adam, Marc and Damian are the heroes in this book and I did get invested in finding out how it continues.

I read "The Spectacular Now" by Tim Tharp

I liked this story. I liked the movie better because I really like Miles Teller, and also, the movie had a better ending than the book.  I just hate stories that don't tell you how they end or leave you wondering.  After I read the book I watched the movie and then made my kid watch it because I thought it was good for him to see how alcohol can really screw shit up.  All in all, a good coming-of-age story.

I read the latest book of the Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich called "Top Secret Twenty One."
There really isn't much to say about this, except tgat I always laugh my ass off at Stephanie's and Lulu's disastrous attempts at trying to catch perps;  even though nothing new ever really happens, I still like them and will read them till there are no more because they are highly entertaining.

I read Heaven is for real by Todd Burpo.
I have read quite a few books about the subject of near death experiences and what people experienced in the short time their soul left their bodies. I am believer, and while this child certainly did not lie, I do think that his father interpreted his own belief a little too much in what his son said. It was a short read, and I am not upset that I spent the money, but I wouldn't recommend it.

And last but not least, I am reading a series by Rose Pressy about Halloween Laveau.
This is a really cute series, and it reads really fast at only 200-300 pages; I don't usually bother with a book if it is under 400 pages but this a fun read.  I think the author would do better to stretch out the story to more pages, because sometimes she is all over the place with this story and it seems rushed.
The gist of the story is about Halloween Laveau, a witch who can't do magic to save her life and usually screws up her spells. One day, she inherits a book of magic that turns her into the leader of the underworld, where she has no clue what she is doing. Like I said, if you like paranormal stories this is a cute little series to read. With 4 books in the series so far, it will keep you busy for a while.

What have you read lately?
