10 awesome and not so much

1.) I tried a new recipe from pinterest and it was not good. I did exactly what it said but it was bitter and did not have a good flavor at all.
Lemon Chicken

1/4 cup good olive oil
3 tablespoons minced garlic (9 cloves)
1/3 cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest (2 lemons)
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon minced fresh thyme leaves
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 boneless chicken breasts, skin on (6 to 8 ounces each)
1 lemon
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Warm the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, add the garlic, and cook for just 1 minute but don't allow the garlic to turn brown. Off the heat, add the white wine, lemon zest, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, and 1 teaspoon salt and pour into a 9 by 12-inch baking dish.

Pat the chicken breasts dry and place them skin side up over the sauce. Brush the chicken breasts with olive oil and sprinkle them liberally with salt and pepper. Cut the lemon in 8 wedges and tuck it among the pieces of chicken.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken breasts, until the chicken is done and the skin is lightly browned. If the chicken isn't browned enough, put it under the broiler for 2 minutes. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and serve hot with the pan juices.

But what I did make which was awesome was Pork Chops in Beer
These were so good I will definitely make them again and the only thing I did different was when I made the sauce I added 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce each and then marinated them all day until I poured the whole thing in a 9x13 baking dish and put them in the oven.

2.) I tried a refashion and it looks like an idiot made it. I have to completely take it apart and try it again and no I am not going to show you what it looks like.
It involved these two shirts from my mom and they were both going to become a dress but now it looks like a costume for ooompa looompa. FAIL!!!

3.) I had an appointment at the Consulate for a birth certificate and passport for Mia and the caseworker I had treated me very rudely which was so degrading but the awesome part was that I didn't know that Mia and Christopher were going to get the Chickenpox the next day so basically we infested the whole Consulate of Frankfurt. Suckas!!
That's what they get for being mean.
I ended up having to call My old work place to get a document and in exchange got caught up on all the gossip so in the end alls well that ends well.
Mia took the best Passport picture which was a good thing because two days later she looked like this

4.) Speaking of Chickenpox.....having a 4 month old with the pox is bad enough but having a 40 year old with them is an absolute nightmare. Poor Christopher really felt horrible for about a week with everything from fever, body aches and pains and the itching that made him go crazy, of course there is also the fact that he looks like Freddy Krueger and Smeagol had a love child but that should only take a couple of weeks to heal.

5.) My sprinkle nails. I don't have a dobber so I stuck a pin into an eraser, it worked perfect and fits  in with my recent obsession of anything rainbow.

6.) I watched One for the Money which is based on the Janet Evanovich series that I love but the movie? Sucked rotten eggs. Katherine Heigel as Stephanie Plum? Nope bad idea. And who was playing Joe Morelli? I pictured him so hunky and this guy was boring. But I did see that there is Notorious Nineteen coming out on November 19th 2012 so that is something to look forward to.

7.) I ordered all the school books for the kids which is going to save me over 100 euros this year and I did it on time. Woohoo

8.) My car is ready to be picked up from the garage which doesn't do me much good because I can't drive around a convertible with a baby in it. Those days are over for a while.

9.) The app Paper camera does all kinds of neat things with your pictures. I think I might do a series for my wall with the kids but this time I will make sure that I move the watering can before I take pictures.
