Summer Time

School is out, and the kids are happy, and Joshua celebrated today by falling off his bike. Yay for roadrash!
Mia tried her new pool today and she really liked it.
It's really hot here right now, and it's getting on my nerves.
Bring it on, summer.....

Ten awesome and the not so much

1.) I made €100 at the Flea market this weekend the downside was that I burned my face so bad that I am now peeling.

2.) I went and seen Snow White and the Huntsmen and it was awesome. Great Movie with gorgeous costumes and beautiful music. I really enjoyed it but it is not a kids movie. The downside was that I ate my body weight in nachos, popcorn and coke and no it wasn't diet.

3.) Mozzarella and Tomatoes with Balsamic vinegar no downside there.

4.)  My Nephew got married. Shout out to the Pachecos  WooHoo! The downside I feel older then dirt.

5.) The Germans lost to the Italians. The upside is that it is nice and quiet in my neighborhood again no downside there I couldn't give a crap less.

6.) Mia knows how to growl now. The downside is that I constantly think she is pooping because it is about the same sound so I keep checking.

7.) Getting ready to plow in to some Cheeseburgers at 11pm. Downside is that I am a fat ass who soon not even the aliens would want to abduct.

8.) Taking Naps with Mia who stares at me till I wake up.

9.) Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids. The downside is that they will probably drive me crazy.

10.) Naked Pallet from Urban Decay.

Tie Dye Jeans

I started out with a cheap pair of jeans from H&M because I wanted to try tie dye and I was afraid to ruin a good pair of jeans but this was so easy.

I just wrapped the rubberbands all over the pants without thought. I used about 3 cups of bleach and a bucket of warm water and left them in for about an hour while turning them every 15 min.
I took the rubber bands off while I had the jeans in the bucket and just tossed them in the washer to rinse, let them dry over night and then shortened them. I used a razor blade to shred them a little but sewed a piece of jeans fabric underneath and zig zagged it so it would look a little used.

This angle is weird makes me look like my legs are only 10 inches but at least you can see the pants.
A little better.
I really like how they turned out so go ahead and try it. I dare ya
PS: Stop staring at my muffin top I am going to start working on it soon.

Shabby Chandelier

I found this awesome chandelier a couple of months ago and just knew I had to make it.
Nifty Thrifty Things has a beautiful Blog with great tutorials.

You will need:

5 Wire Hangers
Wire to tie them together
Strips of Fabric
5 Candle holders ( I used Baby food jars)
Rubber bands
Spray paint

Bend the Hangers until they are round

Tie them together with Wire with the hanging part looking up so that later when you hang it they will be hooks. I ripped my fabric to give it the shabby look and you will need quite a few strips to fill it. The just wrap them around and tie a knot.
I made the candle holder with glitter paint by wrapping rubber bands around the glasses and spraying it with two coats.
When the paint has dried make sure that you snap the rubber bands before you take them off that way it will come clean off instead of dragging the paint.

I hung them at different lengths because I didn't want them to look like little soldiers

Here is the final result

Instagram Sunday

Sundays are great wether we are laying around in our pj's all day or visitng friends. Today we visited my friend Kira & David and it ended up a pretty productive day. She just moved in to a very old house and we are trying to fix up the outside so she has an area to sit.

I got to go through this big tent that they have with tons of Junk but there were a few treasures and of course I took them home.
Which did not sit well with the Husband who thinks I am a borderline Hoarder.

Score!!! Would you have passed this up? I didn't think so.

They have baby rabbits so you know Enya was happy but Mia just stared at it till it went away.

Mia took a power nap on the floor while we were working outside

Didn't last long till she was ready to be entertained from Joshua who was trying to play a game.

I finished a project tonight that I will post tomorrow but for now it is time to watch the European Championship in soccer. The Germans are playing against Denmark and it ain't looking good.

I thought I'd make a wreath

I knew I needed something for my door but I couldn't figure out what I wanted and I needed to use up some fabric that I had laying around so I used three Shoe box lids and a blanket from Ikea for 3,99 and muslin that was 2 euros a meter.
Cut out the shape you want and maybe try to be a little more exact then me but you won't be able to tell once the roses are on. I wrapped a piece of scrap fabric around the cardboard to hide the gray color.
I made a bunch of roses two different sizes Using a Cd and a candle holder as a pattern.
I split them up amongst the tree pieces of cardboard and started gluing. I made sure that the corners had the same amount of big flowers but after a while I just filled in the holes.
I used green ribbon to hang it on the door but I also used fishing line to connect the three pieces so it would be a little more sturdy.
It turned out nice and I can change the ribbon and keep it up longer if I stay lazy.

Ten awesome things

1,) The chickenpox in my house are over and everyone is still alive. That was rough but now everybody has had them and life can go on.

2.) Mia has a new pool and as cool as it is I will have to squeeze my fathead underneath that mushroom.

3.) Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and today I bought them for myself.

4.) After ruining my hair from bleaching the hell out of it I have finally gone back to my own color and while it did depress me for 2 days I am finally getting used to it and I am happy that I don't have to dye my roots every 4 weeks.

5.) Mia has new shades.

6.) My hydrangeas are so pretty

7.) Ritz crackers with pineapple cream cheese.

8.) Joshua got his report card and I was pretty happy with it. B average is ok.

9.) Baby Shoes are the greatest

10.) Yipee!

Instagram Goodness

I think if you had to explain to a little girl what paradise is like then this would be the perfect example. A day of kittens and baby Horses it just doesn't get any better then this.
