Getting some sewing done.......Finally

YAY!!! The first sewing that I have done since I have been on break and it was fun. The pattern that I used for the skirt is from the book "Sewing Clothes Kids Love" by Nancy Langdon & Sabine Pollehn
There are lot's of Patterns in there and cool ideas on embellishing your clothes.
Enya picked out the fabric herself and she likes it colorful. I still have to put the elastic in the waist but other then that it is done. This is the first time I tried Petal Ruching with the sewing machine and it was so easy.

Florist Apron..........atleast that is why I made it. I hate looking for my tools whenever I do something I lay down my tools and then I lose them. The fabric is from Ikea and the pattern was Martha Stewart except the changes that I made which were the ties and the pocket and the embellishing that I did.  So basically everything.
I like it Girly can you tell?

Dress code in Germany

I went to a open air festival today and as I was standing there minding my own business I saw an absolute Fashion Victim. I wasn't surprised to see it seeing as it isn't that unusual that Men don't know how to dress but doesn't his wife care?
1.) What is the deal with the Murse? (manpurse)
2.) Why must you wear sandals with socks? That is a no-go no matter how old you are unless you go to kindergarten.
It rained like crazy when we got there so we didn't stay long. By the time we left it got nicer out. But then we were cold and wet.

Nature Time

Having a dog around the house has definitely gotten me out in to Nature. Which is something that I can use right now. Can't seem to get rid of the 8 extra pounds that I have put on since I started school. But what I do best is complain about it instead of getting out and walking. So having Schoko around is getting me to walk. He is so much fun to have around and the kids love him.

I haven't really had the time or the motivation to sew very much probably because I had to sew so much in school so that is my excuse, I know it sucks. I cut my pattern for a apron but I haven't sewed it yet.  It has been nice outside and you really have to take advantage of it seeing as we are only a couple of weeks away of rain for the next 4 months.

My neighbor and Joshua with Schoko they are just as crazy about him as I am.

Look at that....isn't that idyllic? And only two minutes away from my House.

Loving the Blog

I am learning everyday how to Blog. I tried to edit something and deleted the whole post.  I will get the hang of this yet dang it. I will try to repost it.
I have a house guest right now for the next 10 Days. A 3yr old chihuahua named Schoko he is always a little shy around men so we had to take it slow. After a little bit of growling and running away this is what happened 20 minutes later.

So guess who has a new Buddy?  Now he follows him around the House.

I am finally going to start sewing tomorrow.....I hope.

School has begun.......

1 pumpkin ( Hokkaido)
6-7 Potatoes
Garlic
Salt
Pepper
Vegetable broth
Parsley
sour cream

wash pumpkin cut up into middle sized chunks (do not peel)
peel potatoes, cut in to chunks
throw everything in the pot and cover with vegetable broth.
Simmer until soft
add minced garlic
Blend with stick mixer
Salt,& Pepper to taste
Fresh parsley
before serving add sour cream.

You can really spruce up this recipe with all kinds of other spices, ginger, cinnamon or cayenne pepper.
Serve it with croƻtons or French bread

1 pumpkin makes tons of soup so make sure if you don't eat the first day that you freeze it. It doesn't hold very well in the fridge.  If I reheat it I always put a little milk in it that makes it creamy.

Stoffmarkt Holland!!!!!

Definition Paradise:" A place of bliss; a region of supreme felicity or delight; hence, a state of happiness."

Well I think today I was there...at least if you are a sewer or crafter.
It was Absolutely Fabulous.

There are 140 different Fabric merchants that come from Holland a couple times a year and today I finally was able to go. I ran around like a chicken with my head chopped off. First thing I did was check out every single stand because I didn't to buy the first thing that I saw and I did kind of have an idea of what I wanted.

When you consider how much they have I am surprised that I didn't buy more.
Buttons, Button, Buttons......
They have anything you can imagine, Tulle,Velcro, zippers and, and, and.....

So here is what I bought
Ribbons....how I love thee
I am making Ipod and Iphone covers and ribbon makes them even cuter.
And because I love ribbon and bows and most of all I Love Glitter!!!!
I had a heck of a time trying to get a picture of this fabric seeing as it is black and furry. It is a teddy fur and oh so soft. I have been looking for this for quite some time. I bought the pattern several months ago after I read so many good reviews about it so I am going to try it.

Gift Basket

This is for my 25year old Brother-in-law and it is kind of a joke. He knows why...
Cinnamon, Tequila, Oranges and a naked lady.....
Say no more.............

Creamy Salmon Spaghetti

Ok not much going on in the creativity department today I had lots of errands to run seeing as the first day of school is on monday.
But I did make a gift basket for a Birthday and I figured I would put in the recipie for Spaghetti with Salmon cream sauce.

Ingredients:
1 Pack spaghetti noodles
400gr Salmon
750 ml Cream
Cinzano Vermouth
Tomato Paste

Cook your noodles drain and set aside
Cut up Salmon

Put in frying pan but don't fry it just get it heated
pour a generous dash of Vermouth over it.
Pour in cream and tomato paste just enough for it to turn light pink

Serve with coarse Black pepper flakes

Done!!! Yes your kids can eat it too since the vermouth cooks and the only thing that stays is the taste.
It has quite a few calories as does everything that tastes good.

DIY Fairytale Bed

I have always wanted a Canopy Bed so this weekend I decided to do it.
All it took was plastic pipe and Curtains that I bought at Ikea for 3,99 so all in all it cost me about 15,00 Euros to do it. The most expensive part was the the little lights that I absolutely had to have.
I hooked it up with little hooks in the ceiling.  Seeing as I have a slanted ceiling I had to measure it pretty close but I think it turned out great.

I painted the wall Aqua instead of the weird color I had going on before.( I tried to mix it myself not a good idea) It was supposed to be a tea rose.....So did not happen

See how boring it was??? Yuck

Give me a M for Mojo.........

Well as this is my first entry in the Blog world that might find readers or not I better make it good.  I spend hours on the Internet looking at sewing and crafting blogs and feel so inspired and in awe at the talent and effort some people make.  I feel like running downstairs to my sewing room and start madly sewing away. Then I remember that it is a wreck down there and I close the door and go take a nap.  So I decided that if I made a blog then I would be forced to do stuff. So here it is!!! It's not like I am not creative because I have butt loads of creative stuff going on but I get so overwhelmed and then take a nap. So my goal is to have a project everyday.......Wish me Luck
